The Hindu temple of Tanah
Lot is set on a small island about 45 minutes drive from Kuta. During low tide visitors can walk out there
and look at the caves and take pictures but are not allowed
in the temple itself.
If
you are considering scuba diving lessons a good place to get certified
would be Water Worx in Padang Bai. Owned by 2 German guy Wolfgang and
David, it is a comfortable friendly place to get started.
Candidasa is a neat little town a short hop from Padang Bai.
There are a bunch of good restaurants right on the seawall. It is kind of cool with the waves crashing in.
On Jalan Raya, one of the main roads in Ubud there is a colorful
bookstore that has a range of books from the paperbacks to books about
Bali and Indonesian culture.
Towards the end of the road along the beach on the way to the Blue
Lagoon is the Geko Dive scuba diving shop. It is a sharp looking place
and they have a pretty good team there.
The
market in Ubud is open from 10am till 5pm. There are loads of knick
knacks you can get for souvenirs so you will always have something to
sell if you have a garage sale after spring cleaning.
