Kuta Bali – Poppies Lane 2

poppies2_032Bali – Kuta – Poppies Lane 2

Poppies Lane 2 is a popular place to stay, eat and shop in Kuta.

The traffic is unrelenting because the alley is wide enough for cars to get all the way from the Beach Road to Legian St.

There’s a wide range of accommodation to choose from ranging from 30,000 a nite up to 375,000 rupiah.

poppies2_049Shops line both sides of the street and you will get a barrage of “massage?” “sunglass?” “rolex?” and you just have to be lighthearted and laugh it off if you are not interested.

The salespeople are only doing their job so it’s best not to get aggravated even though some vendors van get rather aggressive.

poppies2_024.jpgPoppies is easy to find from Legion Street. Just past the Bali Memorial going with the one way traffic you turn right.

There is always a traffic jam at that corner so watch your feet that they don’t get run over by a motorbike or taxi.

Bagus Pub is a favorite hangout with Aussies because there is at least 3 screens playing the latest game.

poppies2_040.jpgI don’t go there anymore after the bar staff tried to short change me 40,000 rupiah.

There is a lot of stuff geared for the younger crowd for sale on this street but it is not that much different from any other beach and surf destination.

One of the best values could be the Barong Hotel where the rooms start at 250,000 per night. The atmosphere is relaxed and there are 3 pools on the grounds.

    Hello ,

Bali has a lot to offer but I have not been back there in 6 years so can not suggest anything new. I always enjoyed stopping in Bali to rest up, but am no longer familiar with Kuta. Everything has likely changed dramatically since this page was put up – costs especially!
