Kembar Inn
Padang Bai accomodation
A good budget place to stay is the Kerti Inn just across the road from the beach. The rooms are 30,000 rupiah and 40,000 rupiah. There is a good restaurant up front. The internet cafe below is exceptionally slow and not worth bothering with even for email unless you have the patience of Job. All the internet cafes in Padang Bai are very slow to the point that if you can get on line it might take a half hour to send an email.
There are a number of cheap places to stay. Kembar is another for around 40,000 rupiah, and is probably the best value in Padang Bai. It is closer to the ferry terminal but a short walk to the dive shops. It is a nice clean place with a lounge area on the second floor.
If you want to stay in a plush Inn the Puri Rai is the ticket. Outstanding rooms for around 350,000 rupiah. Sometimes in Bali the grounds are great but the rooms fairly plain. This is not the case with the Puri Rai. It is a really nice place with several nice swimming pools.

We were wondering if the 350,000 rupiah is for two people stay at Puri Rai? If so are there any rooms available Wednesday 16 Sept for 4 people staying for 3 nights?
Hi Debra,
I don’t have the updated room rates available.
The rates have most likely risen substantially since this page was written in April of 2006.
The Puri Rai is still likely the nicest and poshest place to hang you hat for a few days in Padang Bai, Bali.
If you do stay there – consider giving us an update.
thanks

How can I make a reservation for the kembar for two nights starting july 15? I need a single, cheapest room. Do they have a website or email address?
Hello Emma,
Kembar Inn takes guests as they walk in the gate.
You will find it to be rare indeed – that a guesthouse that has rooms for less than 5 dollars per nite – has on line booking.
cheers

does kembar inn still offer rooms? they are still in business? any phone number for them?
dave
Hello,
Kembar Inn is a pretty well established business so it should likely be in business but frankly I have not been in Bali for a number of years. Since leaving East Timor 4 years ago I have been in the Philippines most of that time.
If you have any fresh info on Padang Bai please feel free to add it here. I plan to spend most of my time in the Philippines and will not be able to keep the Bali section up to date. (would like to but I can only do so much!)
cheers
