East Timor Border at Oecussi |
I went up to Kefa near the border between East Timor and Indonesia. The
border is closed and probably will be for some time until things settle
down.
Timor Travel indicates that the border near Atambua is also
closed. Their main office is in Atambua so they have a good idea what is
going on. They run a bus service between Kupang in west Timor and Dili in
East Timor when things are calm.
For now there is no travel between
the 2 countries. An option would be to fly to Darwin in Australia and then
on from there but there is very little info comming out of East Timor at
this time.
