In Kuta, Bali there are a couple of wireless internet places that are fairly fast. The Maccaroni and ESC on Legion street both have broadband.

At the Maccaroni you can use the computers free as long as you eat or drink there. They have 4 computers upstairs or you can use your laptop via the wireless.

Across the street is the ESC cafe. You can get a card for 50,000 rupiah which is good for over 2 hours. You can use your own laptop there. The food is pretty good. If you have any connection problems it is possible that no one there will be able to help so it is kind of hit or miss.

In Ubud there are 3 broadband outfits that I know of. 2 are on Jalan Raya. One is the Highway and another is past the temple going west on the south side of the road. It is upstairs from the bookshop. They are both fairly expensive and the speed varies tremendously. It seems that the internet is clogged up after dinner.

The internet shop right next to the Highway's is quite fast at a fraction of the cost. It is probably the best value in Ubud.

Just a side note-the Chinese take out down the street towards the BCA bank has great food cheap.
