The loseman Rua Beloi is along the river going out of Viqueque to the north.
The owner charges 7.00 a night and gives you bread and coffee in the morning.
He suggested that I put the bike inside the guesthouse for the night.
Pak has 13 kids. He is a cool dude with an American flag painted on the hood of his 4x4.
My
Yingaung motorbike had kind of fallen apart and was in need of repairs.
The exhaust pipe came off, the headlight fell off, and it was running
dangerously low on oil.
Pak had 5 of his sons come over and work on it. They got a good laugh
about my Chinese bike but that bike never let me down yet. It rattles
along but seems to keep running.
They rounded up a few spare bolts and got everything going. I got a liter of oil at a shop down the street.
The rooms were not too bad.
I put 2 matresses on one bed and got a good nights sleep under a mosquito net. There didn't seem to be very many around.
Across the street is a great little restaraunt that served a big plate
of buffalo steaks, rice, and vegetables for 2.00 dollars.
It was weird because the place was surrounded with coils of barbed wire. The food was great. Really, really good.
The next day was Sunday so most of the people were dressed in their best clothes and walked to the big churches for services.
I saw one truck full of soldiers with no guns. It is hard to know what is going on sometimes.
