Good food
Eating in Kupang
Kupang is a good place to fatten up if you have been on the trail for a while in the islands.
There are plenty of warungs by the bemo station if you are in the mood for some quick food for 5000 rupiah.
Nasi and mie goring are great but it is great to find a restaurant with a proper menu and good service.
There are a few along the coast road where you can get a meal for 4 and a few beers for around 25 dollars. That is quite a bit of money in Kupang where you can rent a house for 60 dollars a month but to me it is worth every penny.
I can’t remember the name of this place but ask any expat and they should be able to steer you in the right direction. There is a friendly expat crowd living in Kupang because of the great conditions. Low crime, cheap cost of living, good people, good climate and good food.
PS The last pic is just a joke! I got that plate of chicken at the docks in Sape, Sumbawa.

I always wanted to be a travel-writer but always stuck and hard to start again. Reading our amazing stories and personal touch into each article you wrote really encourages me a lot! Especially when you tell a story about everything around me in my home town :) Thank you! Do you have any tips for becoming a travel writer?
Hello Hestin,
I have to admit to not being much of a writer, but I did have fun putting together this amateur backpackers blog. I am not really sure how one would go about writing on a professional level. Would it be a good idea to write for the local newspaper?
