Tabolong Beach Resort
Captain Garry can often be found at the Lavalon bar helping to prevent Edwin from maintaining excessive inventory. When he is not there he is usually at his resort the Kaki Ayam in Tablolong.
He is an action man and always has a project or two up his sleeve.
Married to a local woman, Indri, they worked to build a small resort about 20 kilometers out of town as a place to get away from time to time.
It is kind of a neat little set up that has small cottages for rent for 100,000 rupiah a day including 3 meals. That is around 11.00 USD.
It is too far out of town for a single person but for couples it is a great place to laze in the sun or kick back and watch the stars at night.
You have to let the staff know if you are planning to have drinks that night so they will have time to get ice from town and cool them down for you.
There is a sandy beach across the road and down a little ways. A bigger one is around the corner in the other direction.
Tabolong is a good place for snorkeling and swimming or just being lazy in general.

What’s happened to Kaki Kaki Ayam resort at Tablolong? We drove down there from Kupang today to find it desolate and deserted and one local inhabitant wanting to charge us 150,000 for three people to sit down and eat our lunch which we had brought with us. We were ten so the price would have been higher.
Go there, it’s a beautiful beach, but the owner along with his dreams seems to have gone.

Last time I was in Kupang was several years ago at Christmas time when I was eating tuna sushi at Garry and Indri’s very nice house up on the mountain overlooking Kupang.
I am sorry that I do not have up to date information on this place but perhaps a visit to see Edwin of the Lavalon Bar in Kupang would clear things up.

i tried to add you on facebook and sent you a msg there and through the webmail trying to get a hold of yah. some how i found my way here. im on my way to asia for april and may and would love to set up something. i was told you have a sailboat and head out on it from time to time. dont know if you do diving trips of just cruises, but my buddy and i would ove to see about joining u on one of your adventures or even trying to set one up. let me know if this is a possibility. if so we would be super siked and would change out planned route to swing by for a week. later bud
