My tooth was giving me a great deal of aggravation so I decided to see an old friend Flora, a dentist on Manalili Street in Cebu City.
There are scores of dental clinics in Cebu but she was recommended to me by a friend several years ago and I was happy with her work.
The tooth was abscessed so the good doctor fit me into her schedule the following morning and went to work on it straight away.
After spending 1 hour and 15 minutes scraping away at the root she filled the gap with antibiotics and told me not to chew on that side for a month or so two give it time to heal.
The charge was only 400 peso or 10 dollars USD. On a previous visit an associate worked on a tooth for 2 hours and 15 minutes and the charge was only 900 peso.
I have been very happy with this clinics work. She has also done 4 implants for a friend of mine that recommended her to me the first time. She also does crowns.
The building that her clinic is in looks dreary but her place is very clean and professional.
Her assistant Jen is a sweetheart and “available” if the right guy comes along.
There are so many real sweethearts in this country that you can fall in love very easily.

There are many good dental clinics in the Philippines.
Cleaning will probably run around 300 pesos.
The crowns usually are made from a mold and are of a ceramic material. The temporary is usually just used for a week or so while the dentist is waiting for the ceramic crown to be made in Manila.
I think that crowns are around 4,000 pesos at this clinic, but feel free to shop around.
My feeling is that you are rushing things to try to get this done with only a week during the Christmas season and New Years.

How much is the price of Implant per tooth?

Implants are not a simple procedure, depends on the condition of the bone I think but you will have to go in for an evaluation.
A friend of mine from Australia went to the above shop and had 4 implants done. He was happy with the result but I do not remember the cost. I think it was 16,000 pesos or 400 US dollars but this kind of thing needs to be diagnosed first hand.
I think that the Philippines is a great place for dental work.

Surely you should have consulted the dentist doing the extractions before you started?
“dutchpickle” does websites, not implants, but I am certain that every case will need to be diagnosed on an individual basis.
Bone condition and other variables will need to be considered – things that can not be done over the internet in most cases.

I suggest you call or text to set up an appointment. It is difficult for the dentist to know exactly what they will be working with until they examine the condition of the teeth needing work.

Obviously you will have to go in for an exam before any estimates could possibly be made.
Talk to the dentist and explain what you would like done and if it is possible.
There are always several options available. Choose the option that works for you and is within your budget.

I suggest that if you plan to spend some time in the Philippines – just shop around near where you will be staying because then you can make frequent trips to get fitted for crowns etc and it will not be much of a hassle.

Crowns are around 4,000 pesos at this clinic.
I know a guy that got 4 implants here and was happy with the result, but as you probably realize – every case has to be treated on an individual basis.
For example – gum disease, amount of damage to neighboring teeth, jaw bone condition etc.
You will have to go to the dentist of your choice and get an exam and then work with the dentist what the options and costs will be in your case. Getting an estimate over the internet is to vague.

I may have asked u already but I need three crowns, and I have to pay on my charge card. Do u accept visa or other charge cards? Pls recommend what kinds of crowns I should consider and the prices for each. Is there a discount for have 3 done at one time. Also I need to know how many days this will take to finish the 3 crowns but I am hoping to have them done ASAP. Will be in Cebu on the 16th of February and will have to stay in a hotel so I would want them done as soon as is practical. Thanks.

You really should go in for an exam and talk with the dentist directly because every situation must be studied on a case by case basis.
Tooth condition, bone condition and other factors have to be weighed into the estimate.

I imagine you must be sorry for posting information about dentistry. ;) I’ll be sure and stop by Flora’s place as I’m interested in a single implant, but that’s not my primary reason for visiting PI. I will be touring the Visayas for a month or so this summer. I would like to rent a motorcycle, but I’m a little nervous about traffic there. I’ve owned bikes in the past. Any recommendations with regard to safety?

I really think that you must get the estimate from the dentist that is selected to do the dental work. Each case might have different conditions that would have to be considered when planning the work ahead. If you live in Cebu you might want to schedule in an appointment ok?
