Enterprising vendors have set up a puppy mill on the cross over by the Robinson Mall near the Fuente Osmena in Cebu. These guys put a new twist on using this high volume location for business. Almost every day there are animal vendors there hawking puppies. Some of these pups are handsome but a few look like they could use some de-worming - judging by their bloated bellies.
One guy proudly hawks his pup, a crossbreed daschund, with medical papers proving the vaccinations.
He was asking 3,500 pesos or thereabouts for that dog - ( 85 usd ) -
foriegner price. I didn't try to bargain to find the real price because
I am in no position to take on a pet at this time and didn't want to
jerk the seller around. Probably there is room for a big discount if
the buyer has cash in hand.
He was a cute little guy and looked healthy and reminded me of my old companion that finally died at the age of 13.
