Boyet Motorcycle Rental – Coron – Busuanga – Palawan Philippines
Boyet has Kawasaki Barakos and Honda bikes for rent at his friendly little shop on road leading out of town towards the airport. He seems to have the widest selection in Coron, but there are several other resorts and dive shops that rent out bikes too.

Boyet is a happy guy with a quick smile.
The smallest bikes go for 500 pesos a day and the Kawasaki Barako 175 rents for 800 per day. The Barako has a huge gas tank and there is no need to have it completely full because you will likely only burn through 5 or 6 litres of fuel on a day trip.

Busuanga Island has many dusty trails leading to the outback and up to the Safari Park on Calauit Island where you can see giraffes and zebras. It’s about a 6 hour round trip by bike from Coron. Boyete has a handy map that he gives to his customers which gives a general orientation of Busuanga Island (but ask the locals for directions for details).

I landed up riding 650 kilometers on Busuanga during the 8 days I spent on the island

A trip to the game reserve can be done in a day from Coron. It takes about 3 hours each way riding and then you hide a small boat to buzz you over the park on Calauit Island.
Your boatman will wait until the tour is over and then zip you back. We left our bikes and helmets at his place – no worries.

Hi Patrick,
Right you are! The TMX Honda is geared like a farm tractor and you were really flying!
Hope to make another run with you one of these days, it was a day well spent going up there to the Safari Park. I enjoyed your company.
Have a safe trip back to Hawaii.
take care

Hello Boyet,
You have a good shop and provide a good service – thanks for the offer but I don’t take perks because then my review is no longer unbiased:)
Take care

Hey there,
I have rented from Boyet before. Do you happen to have an email address for him or his shop? I’m heading back to Busuanga in February with some friends, and would like to reserve aa few bikes for a week.
I seem to remember getting a 250cc last time…
Hello Patrick
Sorry – I don’t have any new contact info for Boyet.
I haven’t been to Coron for a while as I am working in the Bakken oil fields at this time.
Good to hear from you !

Hi DP.
Thanks to this post, my friend and I were able to visit Calauit via Boyet’s motorbikes early this year. Back then we could not find any more ‘joiners’ that would have split with us the cost of hiring an A/C van or bangka (the usual transportation options) to Calauit. It was a blessing in disguise too because we were able to see the beautifully rugged landscape of Busuanga along the way.
I have been texting him today to clarify some details on the stopovers we’ve made last time. He still uses the same number that you posted on this entry. I am not sure though if he has an active email address but I could ask him in awhile.
cheers,
Brennan
