The Kawayanan has a pleasant atmosphere and is a great place to meet up for a drink or meal with your friends. The food is average but the restaurant is very mellow relaxing hangout for sunburnt snorkelers.

The village of Coron is compact so almost all of the businesses are within easy walking distance. There is a big market near the docks where you can get grilled fish and other local foods at a very low cost.
Inexpensive accommodation can be found around town too, so Coron can really be a budget destination. Flights from Manila are very cheap – in contrast to the Manila to El Nido flights which are a bit dear.

It is a great place by this time, mar 5, 2011! A traveller-tiurist of coron cannot consider his/her experience of coron COMPLETE without spending at least a couple of hours relaxing, eating and drinking w friends, or even alone, at Kawayanan! Just listening to the air and feeling its coolness make stay in kawayanan memorable, pleasant and very relaxing. The Manager-Owner Maira and any of the staff members- the cooks who are visible from your table and the servers who are all smiles, efficient and pleasant will make you return to coron and to kawayanan. The food -some very unique ones (try simple ones: kinunot na pague, talbos ng kamote salad, sinigang na tangigue, and sinampalokang manok or the complicated ones: kare-karelobsters, prawns and crabs!) will make ur stay in coron more than beaches and nature tripping. My first stop in my next soon-to-be coron trip will be kawayanan!
