Bangui Bay Wind Power Project
These ginormous windmills are on the north coast of the Philippine island of Luzon.

Philippine Windmills
I was taking a tour of Luzon on a motorbike and came across this windmill farm.
It was a surprise to see this high tech wind generation set up here in the Philippines.
Northwind, a Danish outfit, supplied the generators and expertise for the project.

I was looking for a place to set up my tent for the night and this beach looked like the ideal campsite.
Sunrise the following morning.
I got sidelined by a few San Miguels at the karaoke bar and had to put my tent up in the dark. There was a typhoon passing through the Philippines further south but we were spared from the storm.

Photos looks like taken from another country :) It’s refreshing to see Windmills up north…haven’t traveled farther than Isabela so these are all new to me.

I will definatley subscribe. Thanks for all the work you put into this site.
It possible in the province of batangas to operate a windmill? How much is the average cost of a windmill? Thank you very much.
Hello Romy
…sounds like a good idea to me!
I read in the paper recently that Burgos Wind Energy Systems is spending 14.4 billin pesos on an 86 megawatt wind power project in Burgos , Ilocos Norte.
Apparenly the Ayala Group has purchased a 50 percent stake in the Norh Wind Power Development Corp in Bangui Bay (the one in this story) wind energy seems like a good idea to me for generating electricity !
thanks for posting

I kind of like the idea of using windmills to generate electricity. There is the observaton that some birds hypnotically fly into the moving blades and are killed.
One solution – I have read that if the third windmill blade is created in a darker color it somehow prevents this.
