Super Shuttle
Dumaguete to Dapitan Mindanao
Passengers pay 350 peso for a walk on ticket. I paid 1,312 pesos for a motorbike with driver.
Cokaliong, Montenegro, and Aleson are other shipping companies that make the same run
I chose Supper Shuttle because they left at 5pm.
You must get Coast Guard clearance and pay the PPA or Philippine Port Authority fees, so get everything in order earlier in the day.

Super Shuttle advertises a 2 1/2 hour trip but it really takes about 3 1/2 hours depending upon the weather.

Super Shuttle uses chains and come-a-longs to secure the vehicles. It is very important in rough seas to have your cargo secured. Some liners cut corners and it is very dangerous when the weather kicks up. Shifting vehicles can sink a ship of any size.

I had experience Island hopping before but I went on commercial bus, rental van ,and fast craft going island to island. I’m going again for my second hopping but this time, I will be bringing a car from Manila. What are the necessary papers do I need to bring with me? Registration? What if it is registered under my sister’s name? Do I need insurance card too? kindly furnish me any additional papers that I might need. What kind of papers did they ask you for your motorcycle?
Your kind advice is much appreciated sir.
Sincerely,
Lolotoots
Hello Lolotoots,
Have several copies of the car’s registration with you. There is very little hassle but you will need to surrender one to the shipping company when you get the bill of lading.
The hop between Cebu Island at Bato to Tampi, Negros using Maayo will be the easiest hop.
Matnog, Bicol (Luzon) to Allen, Samar is heavily travelled so it will be a breeze as well.
To Bohol is straightforward from either Leyte or Cebu.
The Super Shuttle in this story makes the run to Dapitan, Mindanao from Dumaguete,Negros. In this case you will need to get Coast Guard clearance. An interesting thing is that the ferries in Dumaguette advertise trips to “Zamboanga” but are refering to Zamboanga province (3 1/2 hrs) rather that to Zamboanga City on the tip of the south western peninsula.
Have a fun trip!
cheers

Good Pm, can we have the schedule of all boats trips, dapitan-dmgete and dmgete-dapitan? esp trips on fridays saturdays sundays, but if you could give the daily sked/s of viceversa, great help! thanks so much! (please include all boat liners and their skeds) how much it would cost, for vehicles(is it based on type of vehicle)? and how much for the passenger/s? BIG THANKS! please email replies.. thanks!
Hello kast,
I am not sure but there were 4 different companies doing the Dumaguete – Dapitan trip every day last time I was there. If you are in Dumaguete just make a quick trip to the pier and check.
That Dumaguete – Dapitan run is an easy one. Just remember that you will have to get a tricycle from the port to the city of Dipolog if you plan to take a bus anywhere. Check with other ferry passengers so that you can share the cost. If there is just one passenger on the trike it is rather expensive.
happy trip
