Zamboanga Honda
Honda motorcycle has an extensive support system through out the Philippines. Their mechanics are well trained and the service is usually very good.
In Zamboanga, the south western tip of Mindanao, there’s a dealer on Mayor Climaco Ave. The new bikes and major repairs are on one side of the street and the minor repairs and oil change are on the other.
Sales and service.
Oil change – 30 pesos + oil.
Parts for Honda motorbikes are available in all the bigger towns in the Philippines.

Hi,
I would like to buy a Honda Bravo motorcycle.
What is your best price for a Honda Bravo new?
Thanks,
Jim Feren
Hi jim,
I can’t help you out on that one. You will have to stop at the Zamboanga Honda shop in person and check with the sales representative.
If you don’t plan to live in Zamboanga – keep in mind that you will have to transfer your paper work to where you plan to reside, or you will have to return to Zamboanga to update your registration every year!

Hi dp,I live in the USA right now with my filipina wife.We are going to move to mindanao in about 3 more years to live, cause her parents live there now.We were there last April to visit foe 2 weeks, which wasn’t long enough for me,cause i just love it there in philippines. Now my question is ,when i was there i did see a honda shop in Dipolog,do they just sell small scooters or can i buy a bigger bike there say like a 250 cc.
Thanks Scott
Hi scott,
Most Honda motorcycles sold in the Phillippines are 125cc, 155cc, and the bigger dirt bike – the XR200.
Roughly the prices are 60,000 pesos for the 125′s, 71,000 pesos for the 155TMX, and around 110,000 pesos for the XR200.
I am sure the Honda shop in Dipolog will be able to get their hands on a XR200. They are superior to the TMX155 in every way except for load capacity. If you plan to take one passenger on the back and maybe a backpack – the XR would be perfect. (2 passengers max – even for the Filipinos)
The XR is very high off the ground and some people with short legs have trouble with that. I prefer the Yamaha dirt bike but would buy Honda just because they have such a powerful support network in the Philippines. Parts are readily available in any town or city you might be passing through.
That coast of Mindanao around Dapitan and Dipolog to Ozamis really is beautiful. I envy you moving there! If you feel like getting away – the ferrys to Dumaguete, on the island of Negros, leave regularly from Dapitan.
Keep in touch!

Hi scott here ,been awhile since i’ve been on here but thanks for the reply,i kind of like the yamaha better for myself, but i would consider a honda. Is parts and labor readily available for yamaha also in many parts of the Philippines.Just wondering if the 250 ybr is sold in the philippines, thanks for your help.
Scott
Hi scott,
In the back country it would be hard to find parts for a Yamaha. I also would prefer a Yamaha dirt bike but would probably buy the Honda because I spend a lot of time on the back roads.
I do not know if the 250 YBR is available or not. You will just have to do a bit of research.
cheers

Hi dp scott again thanks for the info.we will be back to the philippines before we actually move there, cause we have to buy land and build a house, but my wife knows i have to have a motorcycle thats why i will be asking more later.Hope im not bothering you asking these things.Again thanks
scott
Hi Scott,
No worries mate – it is good to hear from our readers.
Suggestion – but not about motorcycles – use a great deal of caution when buying land in the Philippines. Buying land in this country is a tricky tricky business.
Most of the land is not clear titled so there will be many disputes about who actually owns the land. If it was passed down through an inheritance you will need every single relative to sign off on the deal.
A favorite trick is to sell the same piece of land to several different parties at the same time.
There is no such thing as title insurance here and the land office is corrupt.
I strongly suggest renting for a year or two while you get your bearings and get a feel for the country first.
Another interesting point is that you will never be able to own it and it will all have to be in your spouses name. Probably not a problem in your situation, but it has been for others.
The same applies with business – you will put up all the money and have to find a local who would be willing to have it all put in his name as a favor to you.
There are success stories out there but the horror stories will jolt you.
…just don’t put out more money than you can comfortable loose!
cheers

Hi dp scott here again, just dropped in to say hello and thanks for the info.My wife is a filipina and has an aunt that has land in several locations there in mindanao so we may take a look at what she has to see if maybe it is where we would like to build.
Thanks Again
Scott
Hi scott
I really love Mindanao – use a bit of time to research your options before making the plunge and plan on never recovering from your investment.
Just a side note – The Maguindanao area is under martial law right now because that province is heating up due to political reasons and the massacre. I would strongly suggest not settling anywhere around Cotabato City. Mindanao is a huge island and most of it is peaceful and beautiful.
…Mindanao and Palawan are the best parts of the Philippines in my opinion and I also have an attachment to the island of Samar.
good luck

i just want to ask if you are selling mini motorcross ?
because i saw 125cc pitbike mini motorcross at Ayosdito …..but NCR is too far from our place so im asking if you are selling mini motorcross ty ^^
Hello bing,
I have not seen any mini motorcross bikes for sale at Zamboanga Honda or any other Honda shop for that matter.
Most Honda shops stock the 200XR which seems to be a popular bike but it has a rather high profile so people that are not tall might have problems reaching the ground with their feet. The 200XRs have a very low gear for first but then it seems to be undergeared in 2nd gear – a bit light on the power.
Most of the real rough country is traveled on Honda TMX155s because you can haul enormous loads and 5 to 6 people. The most you will ever see on a 200XR is 3 and that is even quite rare.

I need 2 Honda 3 passenger motor bikes for some friends that live in Kalayan subdivision Zamboanga City 7000 Philippines. Could you please tell me the nearest dealer and their telephone number and also about the cost per unit.
Thank you,
John
PS. respond to my email address
Hi John
I am not in Zamboanga right now and do not have that info on hand.
Perhaps your friends could stop in at the dealership on Mayor Climaco Ave and get quotes. I suspect that a TMX155 will run around 72,000 pesos but do not have exact figures.
It also makes a difference if you pay cash or get them financed.
good luck
dp
