Rare orange fish

This weird looking fish is called a “Pineapple Fish” at the fish market in Ormoc City.

This fish has large bony scales and whiskers that resemble those of a fresh water sturgeon.

It didn’t look like it had very much meat on it but the vendor quoted me 120 pesos ang kilo when he noticed my interest.

Pineapple fish – local name.

The head was rough like sandpaper and the body was covered with large bony scales.

If anyone knows what this fish is please let me know.
