Small sharks and fish
I get my “pisayan” or shrimp at the local fish market in Catbalogan, Samar. There are almost always small sharks, remoras, octopus, squid, parrot fish, scallops and even small piles of lion fish for sale at times.
I am particularly interested in this small shark. There are almost always 2 or 3 in the mix. Leopard sharks maybe?
If anyone out there knows something about sharks – maybe you can provide a little info in the comment area below

I get carried away taking pictures of these fish but it’s so much easier than trying to take them underwater (and cheaper too…)
This pile of shrimp will be gone by 8 or 9am. (180 pesos per kilo)
This is one big parrot fish. If you get to the docks early you can find the most amazing things sometimes.

Here are some sharks from Limasawa Island (southern Leyte) that have been “finned“.
It looks like it could be a thresher shark, but hard to tell without the tail.
Small pile of scallops.
