Streets of Cebu
Here are a few pictures taken while walking along the streets of Cebu near the Colon district.
This kitchen does a bustling business on the corner of Paleaz and Santianco. It’s a rougher part of town but there are a number of hotels near that corner.

Although Cebu is crowded, especially the down town area I find it safe. I have lived there on and off for a number of years, mainly uptown how ever seem to spend most time down town for shopping.
Even roaming around at night I have never felt intimidated or scared. Whats interesting is many girls in their teens or early 20s whom appear to be call center workers are often seen at all hours boarding jeeps or catching a bite to eat. This would be not the case in many western cities at these hours.
The variety of malls, restaurants, and conveniences make Cebu a great place to live. Once one gets the traffic sorted out its quite easy to drive around.
Hi Bruce,
Probably the biggest hazard is breathing the exhaust soot from the jeepneys!
