    Hi,
Does the route below travel DAILY, and what is the fare?
We were hoping to travel on Feb 17. What time does the ferry
leave Cebu to make this transfer?

Cebu – Siquijor – via Dumaguete 6:30 am

    Many thanks for any help

The schedules listed were from Dec 15 2007 so they are out of date.

There are many trips between Dumaguete and Siquijor daily but you will have to check the paper to get recent info about Cebu to Dumaguete.

Do you have access to a phone? Try to give them a call.

All ferry schedules in the Philippines are flexible depending upon weather and other variables.

Note – all newspapers in the Philippines have a page dedicated specifically to ferry schedules.

Sometimes ferrys are down for maintenance or bad weather.

the schedule of ferries are still the same route at dumaguete – siquijor and vice versa, if not what was the new scheledule.how much fare each pasenger?

    Hi sarah,

There are so many trips daily between Dumaguete and Siquijor that you should be able to find one that meets your needs. I do not have current info but the ticket should be less than 200 pesos (under 5 USD)

There is even a “slow boat” that takes about 4 hours that is much cheaper. If you have a vehicle you will have to take one of these landing craft type vessels.

There are so many options that a walk down to the dock might be in order to sort out what works for you.

Ferry schedules change all the time so the info listed above is not current but rather gives an idea about the frequency of trips.

Always check local newspapers for the latest info about schedules.

    hi admin!

my best friend and I are planning to travel to visayas this May and we’re targeting a travel itinerary of Bacolod to Dumaguete to Siquijor to Cebu chain of tour. Would you be able to give me a daily schedule of ferry trips from May 17 to 20 that would fit our travel schedule? I will highly appreciate any update. Thanks.

    Hi!

We are planning for a trip to Siquijor. How much is the fare of Delta Fast Ferry from Dumaguete to Siquijor?

    Thanks,

    MArgie

  14. dutchpickle on said:

    Hi Margie,

I don’t have the current information about fares and schedules Dumaguete to Siquijor, but the cost is very low by anyone’s standards.

The boats leave from the pier at the end of the boardwalk in Dumaguete, a shork walk or tricycle ride from downtown. Transport on Siquijor Island is not on a regular schedule. You can rent motorbikes if you don’t want to feel stranded at your resort.

    Have fun…

    Hi!

I believe Delta fast ferries charges P180 + P15 terminal fee.

When I went home for the Holy Week, Delta trip schedules from Dumaguete to Siquijor were: 6AM, 10:30AM, and 2:30PM.

  16. Psyche on said:

BTW, do you have the contact numbers for Delta in Dumaguete?

  17. dutchpickle on said:

I don’t have the telephone number in Dumaguete, anyone out there have it on hand?

    Hi,

Do you need to make a reservation with one of the ferries to travel mid-to-late december? Or is there usually not much of a rush and you can simply arrive at the pier and book on the spot.

    Thanks for the advice.

  22. dutchpickle on said:

    Hello Jamie,

I suggest buying your tickets a couple hours before the boat leaves and then go out to eat or pack your bags and then return 15 minutes before the boat is scheduled to leave.

If you are staying at a pension house, they could probably send one of the staff down there to get them so you don’t have to hang around the pier in the heat.

Generally speaking, it is a real good idea to reserve a spot if you are transporting a vehicle by ferry – but as a walk on – getting your tickets a few hours early should be ok. Vehicles are not transported on the fast ferries with the exception of the occasional motorbike.

    cheers

i just got off the phone with one of the staff of delta, not friendly by the way, and i was told that the first trip to siquijor is at 9:00am.

    i thought it’s 6:00am. which is which?

i need to get to siquijor before 9am. please help.

  24. dutchpickle on said:

    Hello Ezra,

Good thing you called. Schedules are constantly changed.

If Delta Fast Ferry staff says the first boat is at 9:00 am then that is the most current information available.

Be sure to check with Weesam Ferry too.

notice- that schedule is from Dec 14 2007 so call to check for the latest update

  25. Ezra on said:

thanks for the quick reply dp. i would love to be on delta because of safety and comfort. but if this is the case, are there other boats leaving for siquijor at an earlier time? im so desperate now.

  26. dutchpickle on said:

    Hello Ezra,

I am in Leyte right now, or I would go down to the dock and find out for you.

Delta and Weesam ferries have almost identical boats and are both safe and fast.

The car ferry is the slow one. I have only used it on one trip and it took over 4 hours each way.

Why don’t you contact one of the hotel desks and ask them. Are you staying in Dumaguete the night before? Maybe you can have the hotel make a reservation for you on the earliest boat. They do that sort of thing all the time.

    cheers

im in cebu now and im leaving tonight for dumaguete at 10pm on George and Peter lines. i was told that it will take G&P 6hours to get to dgte. so ill probably reach dgte pier at 4am. if delta leaves at 9:00am, then that gives me 5hours to wait. 5hours? that’s like eternity.

and weesam no longer have trips from dgte to siq. i called them up also.

a delta employee suggested to get on a pumpboat, the large one i hope, at 6am but i guess that thing moves slow. so how long will it take for delta to reach siquijor? if a pumpboat leaves at 6am, will it arrive earlier than delta at 9:00am? maybe delta would beat this boat to the finish line regardless of early departure time. hehehehe.

im not on any race here but it’s so seldom that i get to have a vacation. the last time i was in siquijor was in 2003. i just dont want to spend good quality time at a pier or port. my vacation leave was almost denied by our employer. hehehe. help!

  28. dutchpickle on said:

    Thanks for the update Ezra,

It was a new route and Weesam might have found there wasn’t enough traffic to justify 2 fast ferry services to Siquijor.

Here is another suggestion if you are still in Cebu – Ceres bus lines makes regular air conditioned trips between Cebu and Dumaguete.

    http://www.dutchpickle.com/philippines/misc/ceres-lines-dumaguete-to-cebu.html

The bus fare includes the short hop on the ferry between Cebu Island and Negros Island. The trip takes 4 to 5 hours and is the fastest way to get to Dumaguete.

Keep in touch and have a great trip!

hi! how far is dumaguete airport to the pier of delta ferry? how many minutes / hours do we allocate for travel?

    thanks!

  31. dutchpickle on said:

    Hello Monique,

It is about a 15 to 20 minute drive under normal conditions but there is a lot of road construction and detours between the airport and town right now.

Give your self an hour – plus it is a bit of a walk to the pier from the security gate.

Please double check the ferry schedules because they have changed since I did this post.

    quote from Ezra above:

…and weesam no longer have trips from dgte to siq. i called them up also.

    So!

  33. dutchpickle on said:

    Hello Josie,

Probably the fastest way from Dumaguete to Cebu is to take the Ceres Bus

The fare includes the passage on the ferry.

  38. dutchpickle on said:

    Hello emer,

Sorry – I don’t have recent numbers for the ferries and don’t have the updated schedule either.

It is best to check the paper for the latest schedules and contact info.

My feeling is that the easiest and fastest way between Cebu and Dumaguete is the Ceres Lines air conditioned bus.

    http://www.dutchpickle.com/philippines/misc/ceres-lines-dumaguete-to-cebu.html

There is a short hop on the Mayyo ferry between the two islands that takes about 45 minutes and the rest is a smooth bus ride.
