Harolds Mansion Inn Dumaguete
This popular inn is locatedĀ near the Siliman University.
There’s a small coffee shop with a wireless internet connection at no cost for guests. The coffee and tea is free. This is a very traveler friendly establishment.

Harold’s also advertise free airport pick up and continental breakfast for guests.
The coffee shop gets direct sun in the afternoon so it gets quite warm and sticky. It would be ideal if internet was available in the rooms.

Left – this is room #215 – it’s a double – it cost 605 pesos plus 12 percent tax. It has air, hot water, a balcony and is a reasonably good value. My only complaint is that you have to dodge the tvĀ to get to the other side of the bed!

Dorm rooms are advertised but there isn’t really a “dorm room” like you would find in some places.
there is a dorm room with bunk beds
Hi meow cat,
Thanks for the update. Do you know how many people it can accommodate and what the cost is?
dp
the dorm had beds for maybe 8-10 (???) people with a shared bathroom, tv and a balcony. It was 250 peso + tax. There was an aircon but it was disabled for the night i stayed in there… probably because i was the only one in there. There are lockers in the foyer. (this was 3 months ago)
Single fan room is only 50 peso more but is not that comfortable – its really hot without proper windows and no aircon option.
The doubles are definately worth the money and still cheap by anyones standards. Got to love the matresses in this place. The double rooms without balconies seem to have more floor space and are on a quieter side away forom traffic (except for screaming pigs!). NB. a correction for your review… Wifi is now available throughout most bedrooms on the 2nd floor due to new routers recently installed
Thanks for making this website. I enjoy reading all the reservation request from unwitting readers. My tip for your guide http://www.marmarine.jp/
Hi meow cat,
Thanks for the updates and correction!
It really helps when readers are willing to do that.
Having wi-fi in the rooms would really be a big plus!
Thanks again,
I gave it a good review on my website because it’s just right for a backpacker. clean beds, clean comfort room, a working aircon, tv and mirror, with a balcony too. It’s reasonably priced as well. Just right, because we do not stay too long in our lodging, right? We only sleep and change clothes there. ;-)

i would like to ask if the owner of Harold’s Mansion is Ege’s family? I am willing to wait for your reply. Thank You!!
Hi Jane,
I don’t know the family name – sorry.
Maybe call or send an email if it is important.

Hello,
can someone please confirm about the room rates in Harold’s Mansion. And also, do those rooms really have WiFi?
I’m looking for a place to stay in Dumaguete. I’ll be there for four days and it would really be great if I can find a place that’s affordable and has free internet connection in the room.
Hi Myra,
I can’t confirm the current rates because it has been a while since I stayed there.

I often stay at the Vintage Inn (very cheap – good value) across from the market. There is free wi-fi at McDonalds if you can handle the food there :)

Hi,
Is this far from the city proper (I mean Perdices Street) is connected with Hibbard, where Harold’s Mansion is located. I have been to dumaguete and going there this december 4. I was thinking of staying at Harold’s, but isn’t if far to walk going to the downtown proper?
thanks and looking forward for your reply.
Cheers!
France D.
Hello France D,
Harold’s Mansion is a tricycle ride from the main downtown area. It’s not a bad place to stay and the owner is helpful with information.
A good budget place right in town is the Vintage Inn – possibly the cheapest option and it is right across from the city market. It’s a short walk to McDonalds where they have free wi-fi. The bay walk is just one block further.

Hi Again DP!
