Nauhang Barangay – where you can catch a boat over the river to get to Sugar Beach.
I am guessing that it’s about 7 kilometers from town but forgot to check.
It is a bit off the beaten path so a tricycle will probably charge 100 to 150 pesos to get there and you will have to organize a lift back to Sipalay for your return trip.
Most people take the boat from Sipalay directly to Sugar Beach for 250 to 300 pesos.
This nipa palm grows in the brackish water and is used locally for roofing and siding on rustic dwellings.
Pass over the bridge until you get to a community of nipa huts.
The river between the this beach and these hills that must be crossed to get Sugar Beach.
A boatman will come from the other side to take you across for a few pesosĀ (anywhere between 5 to 20 pesos should be enough – they only asked for 2 pesos but why not help out the locals a bit).
The people here are very very kind and gentle.
It only takes a minute to get to the other side.
It takes about 2 minutes to get across the river.
