This unique resort is set on a bluff overlooking the sea in Maite near San Juan about 13 kilometers from Siquijor.
Four of the six rooms are 980 pesos per night and the other two are 1300 pesos. Arlene gives discounts during the low season and is fully booked during the Christmas season.
The restaurant with a great view has a variety of food at a reasonable price.
Stairs lead down to the sea through an archway that is very unique. Arline has done a beautiful job of blending the resort into the environment.
Even though the cottages are close together they seen to be hidden and offer privacy for the guests.
The waters right beneath the Royal Cliff are clean and easily accessible to swimmers and snorkelers.
I went out for a couple of hours and enjoyed the swim but the coral and fish are nothing extraordinary.
A few fishing boats work the drop off with and there was one fisherman with a long line with many hooks strung through the coral in shallow water.
Siquijor gets heavy fishing pressure all the way around the island except in the areas designated as sanctuarys.
I have previously done some diving in Siquijor and was amazed at the amount of fish traps that are spread throughout the coral.
Some of them are tied to bouys with long strips of rubber that have been stripped from truck tires.
While they are recycling the tires, the heavy rubber cord really tears up the coral as it gets worked back and forth by the wave action.
The larger fish sanctuary past Kiwi's dive shop in Sandugan bay has a surprising amount of activity that ends abruptly at the sanctuary boundary.
These fish are smart and do not venture into dangerous waters.
