The tricycles of Sipalay look like they were designed by the Wright brothers.

Even the foot pedaled trikes have a huge wing keeping off the rain.

Sipalay gets a lot of rain!

Tarps are secured over a bamboo framework. It must work because all the tricycles are rigged up like this. It must be a bear to control the trike in a heavy wind but they seem to manage.

In southern Samar and parts of Leyte regular motorcycles have roofs installed. They seem to manage ok, even in the wind. These riders have lots and lots of experience, often starting out as a teen. They make their mistakes when they are young and become highly skilled drivers after 20 years or so.

There is no doubt that they get plenty of rain in western Negros!
