El Busero Inn Port Barton
This place has an excellent location right on the beach. Budget rooms are available above the bar/restaurant for 300 pesos per nite. Discounts are available for extended stays.
The front cottage costs 1000 pesos and the rear cottage is 900 pesos. They have been in this location for 24 years and do not advertise. Almost all of their business is referred by word of mouth and walk ins that are strolling the beach.

Pitong used to own the Gingers Cave Bar that was located near the crooked coconut tree sticking out about half way down the beach. He ran it for 10 years but when the lease ran out the land owners decided to do something else with it.
Ai-Ai is one of the staff – very sweet girl.

Budget rooms above the bar/restaurant
I think that you could get a 250 peso per nite rate on the most basic rooms with outside cr, if you planned to stay several days. The towns electric comes on around 6pm and stays on until midnight.

Port Barton
Port Barton is a mellow place to rest up for a few days. Most of the swimming and snorkeling is done from the nearby islands because blue jellyfish seem to collect in the bay at Port Barton itself. The currents keep the outlying islands free of them.
These are not the small dangerous box jellyfish, but a large lumbering blue one that can still be quite annoying.
Blue jellyfish found along the shores.
It’s pretty hard to beat Port Barton!

Here is a page out of the history books for the old timers – above is a postcard of Pitong’s old bar – Gingers Cave – that was a legend for 10 years on the shores where the crooked coconut tree is now.

Dear Pitong,
I saw about the El Busero Inn on lonely planet and was wondering if you still had a double room available (simple with fan, even shared bathroom ok) for the 31st until the 2nd of January? I realize it’s last minute, but we just got possible job offers in El Nido so we are heading our way there and thought we should stop and check out Port Barton which seems like such a beautiful calm place.
I tried your mobile phone number but it wasn’t accessible for the moment.
Thanks!
Virginie
if you have rooms available, can you let me know the price?
Thanks!

Good day Pitong!
My husband and I are interested to visit Port Barton and stay in your place sometime in February ’12 between the 1st and the 2nd week for 3-5 days. Will you have a room for two with bath & toilet available for us? How much will it cost? If you can include breakfast, that will be great!
If we can get Cebu Pacific promo for Coron from Manila, how do we go to your place from Coron?
Your happy friendly and smiling face makes me feel that it will be very nice to stay in your place.
Hope to hear from you. My best regards and God bless.
Very sincerely,
jessi
Hello Jessi,
the “dutchpickle” website doesn’t actually book reservations.
I think that El Busero Inn takes guests on a first come first served basis but am not certain.
There are daily ferry boat shuttles from Coron to El Nido at the northern tip of Palawan. These are long boat rides that some people find to be uncomfortable. You will have to make your way to Port Barton by boat or bus from there. You might want to consider staying in El Nido as it an amazing place to linger and savor the moment .
