Hi DP any further news on El Nedo as been a few years since I was there. I have fond memories of drinking a wine and eating on the beach, some of the restaurants used to put chairs and tables on the beach which made a very romantic and lovely setting for a diner.
I did find that the town was extremely commercialized, guess even more so now, also crime was a problem, we had a person trying to enter our cottage at about 2am. Once we woke up and made a noise he took off.
Are the resorts still fenced off in front of the beach, this was to stop locals getting into the huts.

Tables and chairs are still set up on the beach at night. It really is pleasant as you say.
There is a long line of resorts on that beach but as soon as you get around the point it is much less built up. We walked to the airport one day just following the beach. Very nice!
Kayaks and motorcycles can be rented in town and there are at least two dive shops.
I didn’t hear of anyone having things taken from their room but I was only there 8 days. El Nido is probably more built up than when you were there last.
We took the wooden fish hauling boat to Manila. It took one day and two nights – ok for me but Beth got seasick so that wasn’t too cool. (took the bike along)
We stopped in Donsol today to check on the whale shark situation. I didn’t see any tourists in town because it is still too early in the season. Heading to Samar tomorrow.

Very good place, with the best frozen Margarita I ever tasted. Very nice view from de pavement over whole el Nido beach and the Islands in front. For dinner I’ve tried the tiger prawns, very good. I’ll go back again.

we love el nido corner bar and restaurant,the food is good and the place is very clean,the staff is friendly and fast!
We were there for lunch this January 2012. We had the opposite experience. The food was okay but the service was so slow and the servers were not very friendly. Maybe it was an off day but we did not return. There are other places to go.
