Roberts Resort in Sabang is my top choice, with great nipa huts on the beach renting for 600 pesos per night. Discounts are available if you stay for several days.

The electricity is on from 6pm until 11pm. There is a mosquito net over the bed. The beach is right at your doorstep – literally.
This is one of the top places that I have ever stayed in the Philippines!
Probably gems like this are not going to be around much longer as big hotel chains develop the beach.

Hi,
We are planning to stay in Sabang instead of just going there for a day tour when we visit Palawan by Feb. Your posting actually helps me decide that we should definitely stay a while in Sabang.
May i ask what restaurant are near the Robert’s Cottage? How much are the food?
Also are there stores there where we can get bottled water?
Many thanks,
MJ
Hello mj,
Roberts has a kitchen and there are a few other restaurants on the road coming into town.
We also ate at the carinderia by the parking lot at the tourist office. There are a few sari sari stores by the parking lot too, but I suggest doing your shopping early because they close early. (Bottled water is plentiful)
We found Sabang to be a great place to stay for a few days. The beach is almost deserted at night and you can have the whole place to yourself. I actually enjoyed it more than the world famous cave.

Hi,
Are the cariderias and restaurant within walking distance from the cottages?
Thank you very much for the input.
MJ
Hi mj,
Everything in Sabang is within walking distance.
Have fun!

Always concerned about International ATM’s being available in Palawan.and other locations, need Cirrus ATM for my cash card.
Interested to travel the island on motorbike for several weeks.
Do you have the National Highway map? The Philippine president visited Samboan in South Cebu near Bato a few weeks ago to open a ferry run to Mindanao. Not sure the schedule.
Hello Dragging Canoe,
I have found the BDO bank to have the most reliable ATMs and there are branches in almost every major city.
The road maps they sell at National Bookstore work for me.
The easiest ferry run to Mindanao is from Dumaguete to Dapitan. Another is from Liloan in Leyte to Surigao in Mindanao.
cheers
