Taraw
Taraw cottages
Taraw cottages go for 800 and 1,000 pesos. I didn’t stay here but is looks like a well kept place with a comfortable setting.
Air conditioned cottages are 3,000 pesos per night.
The restaurant has a good reputation and the view is second to none.
Warning sign
The beach out front is outstanding but there are warnings about the undertow that might be something to be aware of.

Sabang beach
Taraw is such a prime piece of real estate that it will most likely get developed in the not too distant future.
Sabang Beach really is worth a visit.

I doubt the Taraw Resort has a private shuttle but there are heaps of mini vans making the trip from Puerto Princessa every day and it will be very easy to organize upon arrival.

I don’t think there are cooking facilities available for guests to use.
The easiest way to get there is to take a shuttle from Puerto Princessa. There is also a jeepney if you want to “rough it”.
Most resorts have a 12 noon check out
It would be best to call their cell for more information.

I just want to add this info. We were in Taraw on April 20 for overnight stay prior to our UG River trip. The scene in the morning is lively and exciting as many tourist prepare for their river tour, while it was lazy in the afternoon when most of the day-tripper are gone.
Taraw Restaurant are average, nothing spectacle but enough to fill the tummy. Their food servers are always helpful and ready to suggest.
I dont know the rates as we were on a package tour occupying 3 unit of family room (2 double bed, which some of us did not use as we slept on the porch and/or hammock). There is no need for air-conditioning despite the boiling temperature in Manila. I found that a ‘face-to-face’ window plus electric fan is sufficient for a pleasant night.
Walking along the Sabang Beach (from Mary’s up to Pier) is an experience to remember.

Hi i’ve been trying to call Taraw’s globe no. but can’t get through…i really need to contact them to make reservation for 2 nites plus transport from resort to airport on Nov. 18. Pls. help with more info. Thanks!
Hello Eirol
There is almost no signal in Sabang, Palawan Globe, Smart, Sun or TM – I don’t know what to say. There are droves of mini vans that make the run to Sabang from Puerto Princessa every day so transport should be pretty easy to line up. I do not know the cost.
I think you could just show up and get a room at Taraw Resort especially if you do not arrive on the weekend.
Backpackers often take the jeepney but there are only one or two jeepney runs a day.
Many, many tourists visit Sabang every day but the majority of them just make a day trip out of it. The road getting there is smooth pavement most of the way.
good luck

Hi.. My family is the one who operates Taraw Lodge and Restaurant.. I noticed that the number listed here is incorrect.. If you want to book your reservations, you can try these numbers 09215492156 and 09474436943.. Thanks..
Will b in Sabang overnite on 19 July. Do u hv a room available w\private bathroom? How much? Does it include breakfast? Do u arrange for trip to Underground River?
Hello – this website does not make reservations – contact Taraw Resort directly k?
It is not necessary to have someone else arrange the tour of the underground river. Just walk down to the tourist office located on the dock by the beach and buy a ticket. It is easy to do :)
Enjoy!

Do you have availability for the night of 30th Dec 2011 for 5 people in standard cottages without air conditioning. Thank you Kerry Wallace
Hello
Please try to contact the Taraw Resort for direct inquiries about accommodation. The “dutchpickle” website is basically a backpackers blog that just shows some possibilities to consider but we do not make reservations or have any connection with the places that we write about.
One difficulty that you might encounter in Sabang is the weak signal for phones – perhaps because this beach is surrounded by small mountain – not sure really.
I do think that Sabang Beach in Palawan is a definite “must see” !
enjoy : )

Hi,
We’ve been trying to call your mobile number but it’s out of coverage or maybe there’s no signal there. We are going to puerto on 26th of march this year and we want to inquire about your rates.
Hoping for your reply Thanks and God Bless!
Hello hydee,
“dutchpickle” is just a travel blog so we don’t actually make reservations for the places we mention on this web site
The cell phone signal is very sporadic in the Sabang Beach area so calls often do not connect. I do not have a Puerto Princesa number on hand to give you so maybe you will just have to take your chances and just hope for the best.
happy trip
