Visa extension at the Palawan Immigration office
The Philippine Immigration office is above the Red Needle Tattoo studio on the airport road. Getting an extension is a straightforward process taking less than an hour.
There is a photocopy shop across the street where you can get copies of your passport and the original entry stamp which are the only two requirements you will need.
Palawan has a fast growing tourist industry and things move smoothly here.
The office girl will get everything in order for the official stamp man who might arrive around 10am.
The fee for a 30 day extension is 1520 peso and the express service is an additional 500 peso.
The office will be closed for all public holidays.
March 2009 Tourist visa extension update
Tourist visas can now be extended for up to 16 months and the rules are constantly changing. I took a ferry to Sandakan in Malaysia from Zamboanga in Mindanao for my last visa extension.
NOTE – These are 2007 costs – they have increased
