This beautiful lighthouse is on the north end of Capul Island off the coast of Samar.
We camped on the grass on the point and were treated to a great sunset and a beautiful view of Mt. Mayon. Capul Island is a peaceful place but it's strategic location made it an important defensive position during times of way.
We enjoyed camping on the grassy knoll at the point. It is so nice to lie back and watch the stars while fruit bats zip back and forth.

Melville Lighthouse on Balabac Island It takes a bit of work to get down to the southern tip of Palawan and then down to Balabac Island.
It's so cool to look out across the Balabac Straits towards Borneo. What a beauty!
