Cobra’s Den in Calbayog City – Samar

This friendly bar is a great place to grab a beer and a sandwich if you are passing through Samar in the Philippines.

It’s across the street from the Petron Station and in the same building as the Honda dealership.

Cal is a Floridian that has decided to live in Calbayog City with his wife and 6 year old daughter.

His robust laughter fills the bar and he seems to be a straight shooter and tells you the way he sees things without any reservations.

Jackie is the boss!

The cook puts out a pretty good burger.

Look for the sign on the west side of the road.

Update – I am informed by readers that the place has closed and Cal moved to Manila

Great look forward to visiting in a couple of months. As I am a semi vegetarian hope those gwappa filipinas can make a nice vege burger for me.

Bar looks great and trust many S M in the ref. We will need a few after riding around Samar for some days.

Hi Bruce!

Plenty of cold San Miguels await you at the Cobra’s Den! The food’s not bad either.

There is comfortable lodging nearby as well.

Hello Pete,

Thanks for your comment. The Cobras Den has closed and the owner has moved to Manila with his family but is was a great place to stop for refreshments in the past.
