Mosaic tile and aquarium fish give this resort a unique look. I never stayed in Borongon but there is reported to be some good surf out front in season.
Rooms are listed at 10 to 80 USD on their info sheet.
Pete is fired up with a contagious energy and is an avid surfer himself so it might be worth at least getting in contact with him if you plan to spend time in the area.
Pirates Cove is a one of a kind place for sure.
Pete’s wife and co-owner welcomes you with a friendly smile.
Pete told me he got in 3 hours of surfing that morning. They have leased the area in front of the resort from the Philippine government so that they can have exclusive rights to the surf.

Hi again DP Yes remember seeing this place on our last trip but sadly we did not stop. next time will do so, looks great. problem is there is so much you write about of interest and we have limited time about 10 days for our next Samar trip.
Am making a list of MUST DO but its growing…
I am based in both negros and cebu and have spent most times here although frequently in Bicol. Just such a lot to see and do in RP. Love every minute of it, a great land.

hi to all.got the wireless enet so actually sent my first email last week!appreciate the good things about our place.got abused though by a guy looking for like boys when told him dont go for that here hes writing all these bad things about us on our different travel sites.any advice how to counter such things.maybe bad for our business.friends have been replying to these sites and telling us.guess the enet can be good but provides a place people can hide while doing bad deeds.the lonely planet took it off after so many responses so that was good.thanks again

Hi to all, just wanted to say that I had the pleasure to stay with Pete and his beautiful family for almost 1 month a few years back. It was my first time to the Philippines and perhaps my most memorable wholly due to my wonderful experience at Pirate Pete’s Resort. What a hidden gem. Lovely rooms and huts, a fantastic swimming pool and I expect the mosaic has taken over even more of the area, Pete is a true artists! :)
Pete was great and offered a fellow traveller Karl and myself some fantastic tips on seeing the area, and as I was with my father, also a surfer, when there was no surf, Pete suggested my father take a paddle out on the break behind the reef, where Pete switched on the speakers and played some Santana for him while he watched the sunset. wow who needs surf!
A truly amazing hidden gem nestled into a little cove in Borogan. I truly hope I can return to Borogan and vist Pirate Pete and his family again soon.

i got a family who will be coming next year (August) with us to Borongan. a couple with 2 teenage daughters aged 14 and 16. I would like to inquire about a cottage, how much would it cost per night? they would like a cottage with kitchen and 2 bedrooms.
i would like also to know how much does it cost for an outsider (meaning not wanting accomodations) to use your facilities like swimming pool?
