East Timor memories from the year 2006
I met some really good people and had some amazing times in East Timor. Oecussi was especially interesting but there were hidden treasures in all corners.
I traveled the back roads of East Timor with a bike of Henry of the Backpackers Guesthouse in Dili.

These stones were collected from the dry riverbed to be used in construction projects later on. They had to be picked before the rainy season started or they would be scattered by the raging waters that flood these rivers.

Typical homes in the Oecussi backcountry.

Here a mobile fish vendor is selling fish from his bicycle.

Very friendly people.

Oecussi style home – neat, clean and eco friendly.

Oecussi is a special place – the people are very kind.

Henry’s old Aussie ag bike was the best bike I have ever driven.

The Timorese are proud horsemen.

The jockeys are all young lads and race against each other on horses bareback.

Oecussi memories – a special thanks to Henry – you made it possible – and to Cris for your hospitality
