The best place to stay in Tacloban, Leyte that I have found is the Basic Rooms Hotel on the waterfront.
A very nice deluxe room for two goes for 580. pesos for 12 hours.
Tel 325-4465 There is off street parking and the rates are reasonable.
The cable tv works well.
The hot water works well.
The linen is clean.
The air conditioner works. Simple clean rooms. The hot water showers are the best!
The view out front is beautiful. The only draw back to this hotel is that it is a way from the center of town, but for me that is a plus.
If you just want a place to crash for the night the "Welcome Home Pension House" across the street from Dup Tours shuttle service might be a better option.
It's also a clean little place but I feel that the Budget Hotel (or Basic Rooms Hotel as it is also called) to be a better value.
