Basic Rooms Hotel – Tacloban Leyte
This place also goes by the name Budget Hotel but Basic Rooms Hotel is the name on their calling card.
The best place to stay in Tacloban, Leyte that I have found is the Basic Rooms Hotel on the waterfront. A very nice deluxe room for two goes for 580 pesos for 12 hours.
The rooms on the lower level are wheelchair accessible. Tel 325-4465
Basic Rooms Hotel Tacloban – wheelchair accessible
There is off street parking and the rates are reasonable.
The cable tv works well.
The hot water works well.
The linen is clean.
The air conditioner works.
The rooms are simple but clean. The hot water showers are the best!
The view out front is beautiful. The only draw back to this hotel is that it is a way from the center of town, but for me that is a plus.

One nice feature about this place is that the ground floor rooms are wheelchair accessible.
A guy from Belgium stayed in the room next to me once and was pleased that he could get around without any interference.
The Basic Rooms hotel is across the street Tacloban City Convention Center located on the bay.

Basic Rooms Hotel – Tacloban
– this hotel was always a favorite of mine but it was heavily damaged by the typhoon Yolanda – Haiyan.

There was extensive damage to the waterfront during the November 8 2013 typhoon. I took this picture Dec 26 2013 . There is a sign out front advertising that this hotel is now offered for sale.

Basic Rooms Hotel Tacloban
Tacloban is in the rebuilding stage now. The Waterfront is in complete shambles and the loss of life was extensive. The survivors are strong however and are keeping a positive energy about the future.
note: Hotel rooms are in short supply in Tacloban at this time (DEC 27 2013)

Hello Freddy Uday,
The Bayview Inn and the Economy Rooms Hotel in Tacloban are owned by the same family.
The best place to stay in Tacloban, Leyte that I have found is the Basic Rooms Hotel on the waterfront.
A very nice deluxe room for two goes for 580. pesos for 12 hours. These are in the new two story building. The rooms in the same building as the office are not that nice.
A cab from the airport would not be that much. You will probably be closer to the Bay View Inn but I suggest going the extra kilometer and staying at the Economy Rooms Hotel.
Tel 325-4465
Have a great trip
cheers

Dear Reservation,
Kindly send us your exact location and tariff rates were coming from dubai and we want to stay in your hotel for 3nights this october 2009.
Regards
Jim Andal
Hi Jim,
“dutchpickle” is an information site but we don’t make the reservations. We just put up information about places we have stayed but you will have to make your own reservations.
We only have their phone number:
Tel 325-4465
I have found that rooms are usually available on weekdays but weekends can be booked solid. If there is an event at the Convention Center on the waterfront across the street – it will probably be fully booked. In that case check for availability at the Bay View – owned by the same family, but not quite as nice.

Hi we are traveling via land trip and we are bringing our dog w/ us. Would you know of a hotel or any place in Tacloban where we could bring in or check-in with our min-pin dog?
Would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Bev
Hello Bev,
I think they would let it slide if you just checked in and didn’t say anything. If the dog barks a lot be sure to take the little guy with if you go out for the evening.
Or you could call in advance and ask the management…
cheers

Budget hotel? Best basic hotel ever clean rooms and friendly staff, simply the best ever basic hotel in Tacloban.
Best place to stay , yet small bills to pay .
Are they operating already?
…not sure – I go to Tacloban tomorrow – will have a look k?
Is this hotel operating already? Do you know the current room rates? Thanks.
I think that they Basic Rooms Hotel is open for business now but I have not been in Tacloban this year. The Basic took a huge hit from the typhoon Yolanda as they are right across the street from the waters edge near the convention center but there was one section of the hotel that appeared to be open shortly after the typhoon hit. Many rooms of the hotel were demolished.
I always liked that Basic Rooms hotel but I went to Tacloban shortly after the typhoon hit and there was no place to stay so I camped out under a blue tarp. It was a moving experience. Some of the hotels near the Jolibee had rooms but they were fully booked by news reporters and aid workers. I did get a room at the GV in December so that my girlfriend would be able to see Tacloban first hand because she already experienced it first hand at her place near Ormoc City in the mountains. I have heard that things in Tacloban are now nearly back to normal.
Sorry I cant help out with rate information.

I have stayed at basic rooms hotel on numerous occasions for parties at the facility room and we go to this hotel regularly. The hotel is now strong and modern. The rooms have comfortable beds and the linen was clean. The restroom was fresh and had hot and cold water. The tv had great channels and was hd. The staff were friendly and welcoming to us. Overall it was a great experience at such a very affordable price.
